How do you decide who to offer wholesale pricing to?
We're a small consumer goods company, making plush (under $15 retail). We're getting a lot of interest from small independent stores and mom/pop retailers, but are running into a question: when is it ok to sell wholesale versus someone buying product for their kid's birthday party? Most of these stores are small e-stores and the like so pushing our minimum order too high is going to turn them off.
I guess the question is: how do you know what's a store versus an individual? EIN # (too "personal")? Some other method?

Decide on the result you are looking for. Develop a game plan. You really should focus on one or the other. You can sell to a few master distributors, you can sell to independents and chain stores, or you can sell it direct. Avoid selling direct and to stores.
